Magpie Creek Thoroughbred Farmstay
Farmstay accommodation on a working thoroughbred farm near Canungra
The weather is great.
There’s lots to do in the Canungra Valley – visit local wineries, waterfalls, bush walks, markets, boutique shops in the Canungra and Mt Tamborine areas and it’s only 45 minutes to the Worlds – Movieworld– Dreamworld– Seaworld– Wet and Wild – Paradise Country and the Outback Spectacular.
There’s plenty of places to eat out – Canungra Hotel, Beaded Dragon, Albert River Winery, Songbirds, and many more. Eating out at Mt Tamborine.
So – consider a visit to our farmstay – relax on the deck, watch the horses at play, swim in the pool, read a good book and spend time with your friends.
Lots more rain at the farm. Horses are all in the stables, we are nice and dry inside and the grass is getting longer and greener every day. That’s our driveway floating down the street.
The Mundoolun Connection Rd is under water and closed for cars driving north to Beenleigh or Beaudesert.
There are lots of areas driving into Canungra which now have water totally over the road.
Drive carefully – and it’s it flooded – don’t drive through.
Road closures can be found on the Scenic Rim Disaster Dashboard.
Thanks for the rain – now let’s have some sunshine.
Weather Warning from Higgins Storm Chasing
A very dangerous thunderstorm is stationary and raining in over the North Gold Coast including Oxenford, Helensvale, Mt Tamborine, Eagle Heights, Santa Barbara and immediate surrounding areas.
Torrential continuous rainfall is producing LIFE THREATENING flash flooding!
DO NOT DRIVE IN THESE AREAS!
AVOID TRAVEL!
Look at the green grass in the paddock – we haven’t seen such green grass for nearly 12 months, and now the summer rain has finally arrived – weather forecasters are predicting bucket loads of rain over the next week. It’s gumboots and rain coat time – and we’ll loving it!
Everyone is happy at the farm.
With 90 mm (3.5 inches) of rain overnight – we’ve got lots of puddles and the water tanks are overflowing. The water is at the very top of the pool and the ducks are having a great time.
The grass is greening up and growing in some spots. Of course – there’s still a lot of areas that are bare from the drought.
We now had as much rain this month, as we had for the last 12 months.
A great way to start the year!
